I have several friends who haven't ridden much lately, and would enjoy a late morning, casual pace-social ride to start getting back out riding.

I'm thinking of starting the rides from the Publix located at the intersection of Hwy 372 / Hwy 20. From there, I've developed several route options....including a beginner-level 12 mile route for those that haven't ridden hardly at all. The route options extend up to 55 miles.

I'm thinking of kicking these rides off late morning on Saturdays, when the weather cooperates. This would strictly be a group ride (no drop), with an anticipated speed of 14-16 mph. Merely a social ride.

Just wondering how much interest there is out there for something like this. I have about 5 or 6 of us who plan to start doing this, and I thought....well, if others sound interested, I could make something more formal.

In the past when speaking to cyclists, there seems to be a void for the 14-16 mph club. Here's your chance.

If you'd like to join us, comment or send a PM.

Regards,
Lance

Kudos to Lance - Ride Leader Extraordinaire!

This was my first time on the road since my accident dictated that I stay OFF the bike for 4 to 5 months. This was a challenging route with hills the trainer and diminished endurance/speed made for a "beginner" like me wish for Florida roads. The group was patient and encouraging which was a tone set by the ride leader who waited at every turn and road sweep with me. Cool I wish every ride leader was like Lance (is that your real name?)

Thank you for taking the time to put together the route and sacrifice your strong abilities on the bike to assist those of us coming out of hibernation.

Judy
